Welcome to register for the "2020 Global NGO International Development Forum"

Welcome to register for the "2020 Global NGO International Development Forum"

Our institution (INPR) and the Taiwan Alliance in International Development (AID) will hold the "2020 Global NGO International Development Forum" in Taipei from October 5th to 6th. Please sign up for participation.

For several decades since the late 1980s, Taiwan has simultaneously experienced social change, economic development, and political reforms. These events have generated momentous social energy that leads to the emergence of a vibrant civil society. Today there are approximately 2,000 NGOs, which actively participate in the international circles and have made contributions. The nature of their activities is broad-based, including humanitarian assistance, philanthropy, public health, anti-poverty work, promotion of democracy and human rights, and issues related to conservation and ecological matters. It fully displays our country's soft power, helps promote national diplomacy, and enhances our country's image.

To further improve our country's NGOs' international participation, INPR and Taiwan AID will jointly hold the "2020 Global NGO Forum on International Development" at the Howards hotel in Taipei from October 5th to 6 this year. "How to build an inclusive partnership between government and civil society" is the conference theme. The Conference covers a wide range of topics, including the partnership between government and civil society, impacts of COVID-19 among governments, and between the private sector and civil society. It also includes the potential contributions of the private sector and civil society efforts about working relationships with marginalized groups and the 5-year review of SDG implementation. They will all help to foster a better partnership concerning international development and other related matters.

As the COVID-19 epidemic is still severe, this forum will be conducted in the teleconference, using English with simultaneous interpretation in Mandarin. Attached is the forum's Chinese and English posts, background information and schedule, and other related materials. Please register for your participation.
